Lending Policies

Alkek Library's Circulation Department lending policies for faculty include:

Extended Borrowing Privileges

• General Collection Materials (including circulating government documents)
  Faculty : 1 year with the option to renew twice (3 years total). Items checked out to you will be recalled if requested by another patron.
• See the lending policies for other material lending periods.

Proxy Borrowing

As a convenience to faculty members, proxy borrowers (such as student employees or secretaries) may be authorized to check out materials. Please initiate this process by completing a proxy card at the Circulation Desk. The card's expiration date must be updated each semester and notification provided of any changes in proxy.

Interlibrary Loan

This is a free service open to all Texas State faculty, students and staff. You can borrow materials via ILL that Alkek Library does not own. Turn around is fast and if journal articles are available electronically, the articles can be emailed to you.

TexShare Cards

TexShare is a statewide service in which most Texas libraries participate. TexShare cards allow you to go to participating libraries and borrow materials.
